This is my favorite of the series so far (Still have one more to read). The timing for reading it was bad, since I'm going on a cruise in July. But I don't expect that cruise to go quite like this. ;) At least I hope not!!
And Jason's mother is definitely not a nice person. Those who've read "Chocolate Quake" no this. But trust me, in this book, she's much worse.
40-something homemaker Carolyn Blue is thru with cooking and cleaning. She's taken her dream job - food writer. Now her life is filled with exotic locales, delectable foods, and even a dash or two of crime.
This is part of a series - each one stands on its own.
Carolyn and her friends, acquaintances and mother-in-law (!) fill this story with fun and eccentricity as they solve the crimes.
I've always enjoyed Carolyn's adventures as she travels around the world tasting local cuisine and solving crimes. The adventure is taking place on a cruise and it's not just any cruise--it's a gourmet food lover's cruise.
We discover that a shipboard mutiny is underway to cover the hijacking of the ship. Carolyn and her traveling companions are caught right in the middle of it. The mutiny adds a unique note to the adventure, and Carolyn's life truly does hang in the balance.
Will her husband be able to get to the ship and save her before the mutineers do her in? I won't tell.
This is such a great series.....each book is better than the previous one.
Even if Carolyn Blue has to share a cabin with her mother-in-law, she'll still enjoy her Mother's Day present: a gourmet European cruise. That is, until both a female passenger and the double chocolate raspberry mousse go missing. A good fun cozy, well worth the read.
