Oh, Holly, Holly....the only reason we're not tarring and feathering you is because Jerelyn (the wicked) already alerted us to this sale in another thread -- but don't breathe too easily -- we're keeping an eye on you -- first, you make us laugh with your hilarious post and then, while we're vulnerable, you throw temptation at us.... If I didn't know better, I would think you're trying to elevate our neuroses to your level.

Yes.  Holly's elaborate scheme involved making me spend $89 at BookCloseouts.  She knew precisely how many of my WL books were on sale there!!

But hey...free shipping!!

15 books for <$40. Almost as good as a library sell and the books are new!

Am I the only one with any self control around here????  I went, I saw, I returned with my checkbook unconquered.   There are some benefits of being so uptight about the size of your TBR.

I haven't bought anything either! I started adding a few books to my cart, then I decided to stick with my resolve to not buy books while I have so many here to read. The book situation here is dire, it is DIRE, I tell ya!

I'm with Christa although I'm not even looking. Had to drop $$$$ for a new PC since the old one went belly up. Boy, things are a lot faster this afternoon.

Ah, Valli and Christa - I'm with you. but don't think that I didn't TRY!! I looked and looked - not only through the HF but mysteries as well and I bought NOTHING! I am also trying to keep that TBR list reasonable - plus, whenever I see an interesting book , I am now checking it out first with the library. If the library has it, I just put the book on my reminder list. Of course, my reminder list is growing by leaps and bounds!

I won't even look.  TBR is out of control. I'll get anything that comes up on PBS WL, but that's it.  Not until I've made a good dent in my TBR.

Y'all are bragging way too much here!  I think people who brag about not buying books should just....suffer the wet noodle!

Like others, I didn't even look -- my TBR towers are already toppling.  So, Vicky, we're not exactly bragging about not buying books and therefore demonstrating our superior self-control  -- we're, ummm, well, just letting you know that it is possible to resist temptation -- and perhaps instead of viewing us as braggarts in need of the wet noodle treatment, you should look to us as role models whose restraint you should seek to emulate.wink

(Admittedly, such self-control is aided by one's spouse muttering not-so-subtle threats about giving away boxes of unread books to Goodwill.)

I must admit I went and looked, but I didn't buy anything {happy dance}.  HOWEVER.....my RL grew by insurmountable odds!

I am so glad that others out of the woodwork to admit their non-buying. I was starting to think there was something wrong with me!

I got sucked into buying books. But in my defense, I'm going to be dwindling my TBR tower by a considerable margin once I'm through with the 2011 challenge. And a few of those books I did buy are on my challenge list anyway. So, really, it's all your fault. :) CR
