I'm a middle school teacher and I've started a book club. This month we are doing The Boy in the Striped PJs, which the kids are LOVING, but I'm in need of other ideas. I'm thinking of doing The Westing Game next...thoughts on that? It will be mostly 6th and 7th graders. My students are huge readers, so I'm having a hard time finding things they HAVEN'T read.

I'd appreciate all suggestions and ideas! Thanks!!!

What about the Rats of NIMH or the Wrinkle in Time series?  My son loved both of those series.  He also likes Percy Jackson (Riordan), STORM (E.L. Young), Alex Rider (Horowitz), Silverwing (Oppel), and the Gravity Keeper series.

Those are good suggestions! Thanks! What about Lord of the Flies?  Is that appropriate for junior high?

I teach 7th grade English. Some books that my kids have loved: The Devil's Arithmetic, Running Out of Time, Tangerine, The Lightning Thief, StarGirl, The Game of Sunken Places, Everlost, Rewind, Fever 1753, Belle Prater's Boy. I could really go on and on :) I have many copies of Tangerine and The Westing Game if you are interested.
