Maybe I'm just missing it in the help documents, but to me, it doesn't mention anywhere if writing on the front cover is postable or not. This is probably an obvious answer, but I just want to be sure I can or can't post it since it is a WL book with the author's autograph on the front cover. If it ends up being unpostable, could I post it & use textbook guidelines & PM the member about the autograph? Last Edited on: 4/8/14 6:32 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

The rules state that writing is not allowed on text pages. Most people here interpret that to mean that writing elsewhere is generally OK, unless there is so much of it it would make the book not in generally good condition. Writing in places like the inside of the cover, on the page edges, and authors inscriptions ate specifically allowed. Writing on the covers is usually OK, used bookstores make marks on the covers commonly, and that's allowed. Last Edited on: 4/8/14 7:02 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

You are probably better off making the book available through the book bazaar. In the post you can describe the condition of the book and still be able to ask for a credit. This keeps the book outside of official channels. You did not mention if this book is a hardcover or paperback. If it is a hardcover, and the autograph is on the paper covering, then you may post the book, as paper coverings do not have any posting requirements (unless there is a requestor condition concerning the covering). |
