Topic: Book contest okay?

I am having a contest on my blog for a free book from my shelf. Is it okay to post the link and details? If so, which forum should I post it in?

I am also thinking that you can advertise this in your signature line if you wanted to. The rules of "advertising" things on this site are tricky and I tried to search for them but could not find the official answer. I know you are allowed to post a link to your blog in your signature line. I am 99% sure you could also post the details of your contest (this to me seems similar to people who advertise unpostables in their signature line, like I do, which is okay). So, I think it's okay for you to add this info to your signature line. |

I think that as long as your blog and contest are not for commercial purposes that you'd be OK with an announcement in your sig. I think the objective is to prevent promotion of commercial sites, not our own personal ones. |

Yeah, I'd say this is okay! You aren't asking anyone for money or to purchase anything, in fact, you are giving something away. So, I think you are okay to put this in your signature line. |
