I have posted 3 images for books i've posted in the last two days. They were all under 5 MB and none of them are showing up yet. I posted two of them sometime early yesterday, and one today. I was wondering, do they always take this long to show up?

They can take time.  There was a bug when uploading images using the little arrow link to the right of the title on the listing page, and I'm not sure if it's been fixed yet or not.  If you're uploading images that way it might work better to use the Upload Book Covers link at the bottom of the page.  If you're already using that, it might just take time.  The images that are uploaded don't go to the image approvers in the order in which they were uploaded, so it could just be that they haven't been run through the approval process yet.  If you still have the images you can try uploading them again; if there's already an image waiting for approval then it'll say so.

One thing I did forget to mention in that article, is that all images must be approved before they will appear. And if all the approvers happen to be busy with real life, it can take longer for them to appear. As a general rule, images appear quicker than data edits, but they still can easily average 2-5 days for approval. Data edits can easily average 3-10 days. Depending on the number of submissions, and the number of volunteers working to get thru the queue.

But, as James said, don't use the link on the data edit page, that just sends them into cyberspace, either click the blue icon on the book's detail page, or copy the ISBN into the slot given when clicking the Upload Book Covers link at the bottom of the pages.

Let me know if you try them the other ways, and they don't show in 5 days. I'll check the queue to see if it's been cleared, and then try to work with you on the images or give you a BDC person who will be able to help you.

I uploaded by clicking the Blue blank spot where the picture should be, and went to the upload form from there!

Thanks for your answers. I didn't know they needed to be approved. But i was concerned because i did delete the images and send them to my recycle bin, so i was worried i'd have to hunt the pics back up and re-crop them.... lol.

At this time there are not any pending images to approve.

I just completed the approvals and if yours are not showing up. then they did not work. Please resubmit.

Tracey, I recommend holding on to the images at least until you verify that they worked and if possible forever. We had a system glitch a while back that ate about 50% of the images. Those that saved them were able to get theirs back on pretty quick. Others still haven't gotten them all back.
