I've noticed that when I get a wish list offer, the book is no longer listed on my wish list, and that makes sense. But sometimes I'd like to see it in my list, either to see when I put it on my wish list, or just to confirm that it really was on there. Yes I know that sounds silly, but I have so many books on my WL that sometimes I get offers and I have no recollection of the book. At the very least seeing the date I added it to my WL would be helpful. Is there any way to look that up?
Thanks |

It should still be on your WL so you can see the date you added it. It will be highligted in pink as it is 'on hold' til a successful transaction is recorded. |

The books that go on hold on your wish list are the ones that are similar to the book that was offered to you (i.e, same title, different ISBN). The book you actually got an offer for is removed from your wish list as long as the transaction is active. It will go back on your wish list if you click the Not Now button; if the transaction is canceled by the sender; or if it is lost in the mail. |

As others have said, once it is offered you can't see how long it was on your WL, unless you say "not now" which turns the offer down until the next copy is offered. |

If you like, you could add a "book note" (also called a "personal note") I love this feature. I use it to record the date I wish list titles (the better to purchase them if the line is stagnant or remove them if I've lost interest - or to check reviews once the title has been out there for a bit). I also use it to record where books on my public bookshelf actually are in my home (we have 3 floor to ceiling and 2 smaller bookcases). You can also use the tag feature to record information. My tags usually look like this: 4/12 7/15 (I was 4th in line for the book in July of 2015). If I haven't moved up in the FIFO line, I know to look for the book elsewhere. |

I use the note feature too..I like it. For me, I put some info. On it like which version it is, wo recommended it, etc |

Well, when someone orders a book it disappears from the bookshelf - so there isn't much difference. It's why I keep all my bookshelf books in one place. So I don't wonder why they're requesting a book I don't remember having in the first place.

Yes, the software is set up to move the transaction from your Wish List to your My Account page when the wish is granted. Also, when someone requests a book, in the transaction box you can see the date you posted the book. That always helps me find the book. |

The titles are the same, different version is on hold. I assume you add all the versions you want on the same day. |

Thanks for the replies. I like the idea of adding a book note, that should help this old brain of mine. |

Carol, maybe you should create a Book List to keep track of the books you're talking about I have some you can see on my profile, on the bottom right. You can put the different versions of wl books on the list. You can make comments at the end of the list. You can edit the list, add books, delete books etc. I make a "closed" list
Note: There are no private lists. All lists can be viewed by the general public. EDITED: I have a Book LIst to keep track of audio books I can get from my Public LIbrary. EDITED FOR MORE INFO: you can give the list a Title, and Description. After you create the list you can add comment at the bottom of the list. Every time you make a comment another comment box appears. Last Edited on: 8/9/16 11:42 AM ET - Total times edited: 2 |
