Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer
This is a great book in terms of writing and the look at personal freedom in the United States. It always amazed me that Chris could find such nice people to help him out. His bravery is impressive also, though one could easily say that he took too many chances, was too impulsive much of the time and failed to prepare adecuately for some of the circumstances he found himself in. I think INTO THE WILD is best viewed partly as a cautionary tale and partly as a freedom handbook/case study. Saying this, I still think it was well worth reading or even re-reading. A great book overall.
