I received a pm from a member I had requested a book from 2 weeks after it was marked mailed. She had forgotten to mail it, and was going to send it out. Just yesterday I received another pm stating that it had again not been mailed. She has sent me back my credit, but it is still showing as being in the mail to me. How do I get this off my "on the way" list?

Thanks!

Sigh .... just another example of why a book should NEVER be marked Mailed until it actually HAS BEEN mailed (or at least wrapped and on it's way to the PO).  Sorry, this is one of my pet peeves.

I know of no way to get this book off your "on the way" list except perhaps e-mailing R&R.

If it was me, I would just wait until the book is marked lost, at which point you will get your credit back.  Then you can buddy her back her credit.

I never mark a book mailed until it has been put in a box. I won't mark it mailed even as I walk out the door to do it. Something could happen on the way to side track me. I get books all of the time mailed a week or two after being marked mailed. It's rude. I'd just let it go lost.

You may just want to let the system take care of it for you.  From the Help Center:

If a book requested does not arrive by the 26th day after it was marked mailed, it will be declared Lost in the Mail at PBS.  The requestor does not mark the book lost, the system does this.  The requestor will get their credit back and the book will go onto the Wish List (if there are no available copies in the system)  If the book was a Wish List bookwhen it was requested before, the requestor will will go back to the #1 spot in line for the book.

If however, the book arrives after it is declared lost, the requestor must mark it received in the Transaction Archive.  At this time the credit will be taken back and given to the sender.

Just a suggestion for you to consider.  Then you don't have to worry about having the book listed in the mail to you after 26 days.  You must almost be there by now.
