I have requested a book from another member who has advised me they marked it mailed in error, and cannot locate the book.  What are our options?

wait until it becomes considered lost in the mail and you will get your credit back.

So the only thing we can do is wait 26 days even though both sides know and agree that it was an error?  Ouch.  Glad my bookshelf is kina full =)

Ron, if the person who marked the book mailed contacts R&R, they can probably cancel the transaction. But I'd have the other member do the contacting, since s/he was the one who made the error.

We talking about a wishlist book or a bookshelf book?  If it's a wishlist book, you want wait and let the book go lost in the mail.  Because this will put you back on the wishlist in the number 1 spot.  Or you could try contacting R&R to see if they can shorten the wait.

If we are talking about a book that they had on their bookshelf that has others in the system, you have another option.  You could make an arrangement with the sender.  They send you a credit, you mark the book as received.  This ends the transaction.  You have your credit and they have a credit.  Everyone is where they are suppose to be and you can then go about ordering the book from another person.

Good Luck!

Kerry

Hrm, that is a good idea.  I hadn't thought of that.  Thanks Kerry!

R&R are the founders of the site.  You can find them at the "contact us" button on the bottom of the page.

 Hi Ron,

From the PBS Help Center:

"If a sender has told you that a book cannot be sent but it was already marked mailed, the sender must contact us to ask us to cancel the transaction."

Hope that helps.

Contact R&R instead instead of doing the buddy credit and marking it rec'd. This person should NOT be marking books as mailed before they are sent and their account should be noted that they are doing it.
