I had a wishlist book that I had on auto request. The sender marked the book as shipped 20 days ago. She did not us DC/PBS postage. After receiving emails from PBS asking me if I had received the book & to mark it rcvd. if I had, I emailed the sender. She replied the same day that she never shipped the book because she realized it was "damaged" and she was going to go buy one and ship it. She never bought the book or shipped it, as she had planned, but she did say she would ship the book the next day. I emailed her and told her to just mark the book as not sent or let PBS know so that I could get back in line for the book, if she hadn't already obtained another copy. She never replied to the email. I waited three days and emailed her again asking her to let me know if she shipped the book, and to please let PBS know if she didn't. Still no response. Do I just wait until the time is up and mark it as not received? Even though it wasn't shipped? Thanks. |

If it were me, I would copy and paste the message from the other member into a message to the PBS Team and ask them to Cancel the order. Once a book is Marked Mailed neither member will be able to cancel the order, but the Team can. That way you will be put back in your spot in the FIFO line and can get an offer from the next member who posts the book. While I understand that life sometimes gets in the way of our best intentions, the member should have told you up front they discovered damage on the book and could not mail it when they said they would. They could have contacted the Team then and asked that they cancel the order. Not let you know days and days later after you had contacted them. To Contact the PBS Team click (not hover) on the grey Help Center tab at the top of the page and choose Contact The PBS Team when the new page opens. Include the title of the book in your message, and copy and paste the messages you received from the other member so they can see that the book was never mailed. |

I just sent off a book a few days ago that I discovered had some underlining in it after I printed off the PBS postage wrapper. I didn't want the wrapper to go to waste, so i gave the person 2 options-either pick another book off my shle and I would sent the underlined book as a freebie or i would send it, but buddy her credit back to her- so she would have a freebie book-she went for option 2. |

If she marked it mailed she cannot change that. Also there isn't an option for you to mark it as Not-Received. It sounds like it's probably going to go lost soon anyway. But if you don't want to wait that long you need to contact PBS. |

Let it go lost (which should happen soon), and you will be returned to your former place in the wishlist (usually #1). I would then copy all your pm's from the sender and forward them to PBS admin as FYI, so TPTB are aware it's a black mark for the sender not USPS. Well done Sue! |

I'll let it go lost sine it's only 6 days away, but I will forward the emails to PBS. Frustrating when you've been on the wishlist for months for a book. |

PBS just told me today that they can only cancel a "mailed" book on a request from the SENDER of the book, not the receiver. (I got a PM from the person I requested a book from saying that they marked it mailed by accident, but PBS can't cancel the order unless she requests it.) But if the other member is not answering your PMs, then you should report that. The book will go lost, though, and you will get your credit back that way, eventually. When you never mark it anything. |

If this copy of the book arrives before you have another copy from PBS either in hand or in the mail, you are obligated to go into your Transaction Archive and mark it as received. Sucks that someone can mail so late and still get the credit but that's how it works. |
