I had a book on my wishlist and when it was posted I checked the senders list and ordered another. I also PM'd her to let her know about it to save on postage. Well the wishlist book arrived but the other one was not with it. I contacted her about it and she stated that she had mailed them together media mail and the book I received was not from her. Ok I don't have much of the wrapper address left since it was handwritten and that was the corner that got torn up unwrapping it but the postage states that it was mailed from her city state. I did give her what little info I had on the wrapper along with the dc number (not through pbs) to see if she could match it up but she just hopes I can figure out where it came from because she mailed mine media mail. Should I wait and see if I get another package from her in which case the first book was meant to go to someone else or do I go ahead and mark it RWAP? Check your transaction archive. If a previous person sent you the book, but didn't mark it mailed, it would have timed out and went to the next person. This is a confusing one, considering the circumstances you described. I wouldn't mark anything until you know for sure what's going on. From the help docs:
I received a book from a canceled transaction! This usually happens when the member that sent this book did not complete the sending process by marking the book mailed, but sent the book anyway. In these situations, there is a possibility that the requestor will end up with 2 copies of the book. If you received (or will receive) two copies of the book, you are NOT obligated to give a credit to the sender whose transaction was canceled. If you got (and will get) only one copy, you should mark the book received so that the sender gets credit.
WHAT TO DO: You should FIRST check your My Account main page to be sure there are no currently ACTIVE requests for the book in your account.

If you have the DC number go to usps.com and enter it there. You can see the originating city. If the package was mailed from her city, then odds are it came from her and the other book was lost out of the package along the way somehow. If she handwrote the label, bought non-PBS DC, and the package came from her city, that is just too many similarities to be a coincidence and coming from someone else. When you mark it RWAP - book missing, that will allow you to select the book that was received and mark it as such, while leaving the other book in transit. If it does happen the the book came from someone else and her package shows up, you can mark her other book received then, and figure out where the mystery book came from. Good lesson on confirming the sender before destroying the wrapper ;-P You can also poke around your Transaction Archive to see if there are any cancelled transactions for the book. Someone might have accepted the transaction, but forgot to mark it mailed and the transaction got cancelled. |

Transaction archive doesn't show any books cancelled. The one other problem I have is with the tracking number I can't get it to work. It says USP Tracking Number 9574 2105 6982 1325 4572 18 . She said she mailed my package media mail this one is first class mail and only one book was in it nothing fell out or got lost with the way it was wrapped. If I could get the tracking number to work it would help. |

That looks like a Paypal DC when you buy postage from them. Maybe they stuck your 2nd book in someone elses order by mistake. |

Mary I believe she may have stuck the book in with someone elses order. I did give her the DC number to check but she didn't bother to. I'm going to wait a few days and if it doesn't arrive go ahead and RWAP it. |
