I read this novel this summer and was very taken with it; it's been made into a miniseries (3 successive nights, so nothing as drawn out as Outlander or as silly with a hiatus in the middle) by BET. I I have been stalking its premiere info, and finally, the air date has been released: Mon-Weds, February 16-18. Here is the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iy5IMc_oRu8 and its FB page: https://www.facebook.com/TheBookofNegroes There is a lot of other info about it on BET's page for it as well. The cast is exceptional, and I am really hoping they did a good job staying with the book. I thought the novel was a stand-out example of great HF, the kind you can't put down and where you forget it's fiction, but the history is accurate and the details perfect. |

Thanks for posting this. I read the book a while ago and thought it very good. Didn't know about the miniseries -- will put it on my calendar. |

Plus one to Deb's comments! Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention, Colleen. I have not read this book, yet, but I think it's time to move it to the top of the list. Unfortunately, I don't think our cable plan includes the BET station. I'll have to confirm and then watch for it to be released to NetFlix or AMZ. On a related note, Sons of Liberty is a 3-part History Channel mini-series that begins tonight. As is typical of the History Channel, there will be several other opportunities to watch this. Kelly
