I have a paperback book that I would like to post, but I am not sure if it's postable due to forum posts that I've read in the past from other members. The book was a used bookstore discard. The used bookstore that I frequent has a "free shelf" where customers are allowed to choose books when other books are purchased.

The problem is that they snip off the top corner of the front cover so the same books cannot be returned to the book store for future credit. (They give credit for some used books that are brought in for trade.) Most of the front cover is there, just the top right corner is snipped off. This wasn't one of those deals where the front cover was removed for the store to get credit from the publisher, in other words. Can I post this book?

I have posted a couple of similar books in the past, and received no complaints, but saw a forum post somewhere that these aren't supposed to be listed.

Thanks in advance for your help!

From the Help Center, under Condition Guidelines:

"some used book stores cut out a small part of the cover; if the amount missing is less than 1 inch, this is OKAY"

Cheers,

Catt

Just make sure (if you haven't already) that your book is not an ARC.  I know that the free shelf at the bookstore I go to is mostly ARCs.
