I have a brand new paperback book, but apparently someone opened the box with a knife, because the spine has a knife score along the entire length. The pages are not loose, and as far as I can see, it doesn't affect the integrity of the book at all. But I thought there might be a rule about this? Thank you for any help! -Rebekah |

It is just a score in the face of it, not all the way through so part of the book is separated from the rest? If the book is still all intact, nothing missing, then I would think it is postable. |

I would agree, if the cut doesn't actually penetrate to the binding, or make you think that the books is going to fall apart because of it. |

I would post it and be sure to let any requestor know about it's condition when it gets requested. |

Altho, if it was brand new, I'd take it back to where I bought it and ask for a return of my money. |
