Today, I received a request for a children's book. I accepted it, but haven't printed the wrapper yet. I found it and was looking through it as a last minute check to make sure it's postable like I always do. Then I noticed the year it was published. It was published in 1988 and is 22 years old. It has a completely different cover which isn't unusual. Then I looked at the book description and found that the requested book says published in 2006. I placed the ISBN # of the book I have into search and the same book came up as the requested one from 2006. There are other copies of the more recent book, so the requestor can get the newer version. Now what do I do?

Here's the book --- http://www.paperbackswap.com/Almost-Starring-Skinnybones-Barbara-Park/book/0394825918/

I just looked through the author's list and there are several revised editions of this book. Another weird thing is my book has a different publishing company, Bullseye Books published by Alfred A. Knopf. Course, the newest edtion's publishing could have taken over the publishing company of the book I have, who knows, lol.

As long as your book matches the requested ISBN, Author, Title and Booktype I believe you can still post it. Those are the only things that are required to match.

"...match the listing for the item in one or more of the four necessary aspects: ISBN, Title, Author and Booktype.   Nothing else about a listing needs to match:cover image does not have to match; publisher does not have to match; publication date does not have to match."

Yep, you're fine. I would go ahead and send it.

The only thing I would add is to make sure the Title matches exactly. That is where I see older versions getting dinged because the title is slightly different on the updated release and the title must match exactly to the listing. If the 4 key points match exactly, then the book is perfectly fine to send.

The title is exactly the same and all the rest, just the year is different, a whole 18 years older than the book that is shown.
