I just posted "The Fault In Our Stars" (isbn 9780525478812 with over 1000 wishers) because my TBR pile showed it as an "auto wish list".  It's now listed on my book shelf with no "hold" on it (e.g., I can delete it if I want), and doesn't appear on my account page, either.  I wonder if it's "orderable" directly from my bookshelf?  I often wait for 'auto wish lists' to be shown, since I like to print, wrap, and mail immediately.

I just checked to see if I could see the book on your shelf (don't worry--didn't want to order it), but your shelf shows up as on hold. Do you currently have your bookshelf on vacation hold? Because if you do, the book will appear as though it can be ordered. When you take the shelf off hold, the book will go to the automatic wishlist.

THANK YOU, babs!   Yup, I had it on vacation hold!  All set now.

I have had books show up as automatic wishlist, but when I posted the book, it went into the 48 hour hold instead of automatically being requested. Who knows? Perhaps someone else had posted the same book as me, moments before...I often will post a book shown as being on auto WL because like the OP I prefer to post and mail right away as opposed to waiting while a book rolls through multiple members waiting to be accepted.

How does auto-request work when the person in first slot has auto-request on but is also on vaca hold?  IS there NO need for the requestor to do anything at all? So the sender just prints and sends?

Yes Jeanne, if the first person has Auto-request and is on V-hold, the request with go through if they have credits and the sender will automatically get the request (as long as the sender isn't on V.Hold too like the OP was). If the first person doesn't have any credits, it will act like 48hr hold and be skipped if they are on V.Hold.

Sally - its also possible that 1st person didn't have any credits to request the book. Then the auto would act like a 48hr hold.
