I was looking in my Transaction archive today, and noticed I have a book that was requested, and then cancelled 5 minutes later. I never received a request notice or had a chance to respond to the request, but I have a big red X in my transaction archive now. Why is that if I didn't get a chance at the swap? |

The potential recipient has a one hour "buyer's remorse" window during which they can cancel the swap. If they cancel within that hour, you are not notified because you actually don't receive ANY book requests until an hour after they are requested. |

Don't worry, the red "X" doesn't count against you in any way. |

Oh, gosh, I've done that a million times. Ordered and cancelled a minute later. I don't know why other than remorse at wasting a credit on an abridged audio, as audios are what I've mostly been ordering lately. |

Yes--it's perfectly fine to order a book and then cancel. And if it's done in that first hour, as Lisa explained, you won't even know about it unless you check your transactions archive. |

I had a different experience. I had a book requested and cancelled a few minutes later (I only know that now because I checked the transaction archive), but it still showed up as a request and let me print the wrapper and mail it off and everything. There was no notification, and somehow the "1 hour rule" stated here didn't apply. They cancelled within a few minutes but it still showed up as "requested" for me and I sent it now, and I guess I'm screwed. Oh well.

Ok, I was just wondering about the red X in my transaction list. As long as it doesn't affect me. Thanks for the answers. |

yep you don't know someone's ordered until an hour later and even after you've accepted the order they can still cancel..I think once you print the label they can't cancel on their end; at least that's how it used to be. |
