I listed a book without an ISBN (it's an older paperback).   The edition with the ISBN is wish listed.  The problem is, when you click on the author's name under my listing, it takes you to that author's information, but my book is not listed there either on the chronological list or on the available list.  Any ideas?

I'm not sure the books without ISBNs are linked into the system the same way as those with ISBNs.  I know that there are currently flaws in the author/book searches--some authors don't bring up all the titles even when they do have ISBNs.  Hopefully someone more familiar with the book data processing can help you out more.

They are changing the way that books are listed and I have reported many problems recently with the book listings under the author's name.

So ... even if we knew how it was supposed to display ... there is no guarantee that right now it is working.

You could post it in the Book Bazaar forum under "Wish Listed Books With Different ISBN#'s"  (it's an entire thread for these) if you want to move it.

You can also put a tag on the WL version.  I'll tag the WL book with something like "Also listed as ISBN xxx".  This gets my copy to move faster.

(Do remember that the audio book and the Large Print will often be WLed long after the regular versions are available.)

Also, if you just posted it, it can take a few days for the database to catch up.

Lastly, double check your spelling to ensure what you have matches what the database lists for the author.  Making a typo, or using a slightly different version of the author's name (i.e. T.S. Eliot vs Thomas Sterns Eliot) can impact the ability of the database to link things up. ;-)

I've got this problem as well. A number of my books don't show up in the "Books by Author" lists. For instance, my copy of "The Airs of Earth" by Brian Aldiss (http://www.paperbackswap.com/Airs-Earth-Brian-Aldiss/book/239405/) isn't showing up in the Brian Aldiss page at all, though if you use the book browser, it does show up.  I know I've seen this issue with other of my books as well. It's quite annoying, and if there was a trick to making it work better, I'd use it...

I would love to know if this is a book on my wish list. I often try to search for my obscure book wants by title and author.

I just got a response from a query I sent to the PBS team about this, and essentially, if a book is posted without an ISBN, it doesn't participate in the Book Author pages. (Nor does it have wiki editing facilities, now that I think about it.)

So I think we're just out of luck.

People who wish for books: Use the book browser if you think your wishes might fall into the "no ISBN" categories of postings. The author pages won't show you the no-isbn postings.
