If a book is listed in the PaperbackSwap system does that mean that the book has been given before?       Thanks

Books at PBS have many sources. Some I've posted I've gotten via PBS, gotten as gifts, purchased new or from a used books store.

No. If an ISBN is listed in the database and you don't see an "Order This Book" button, then that means it is not currently available ... but it doesn't say anthing about whether it has ever been available in the past. There are a lot of ISBNs in the database that have never been posted because they haven't even been published yet.

Considering the number of books that I've entered both with and without ISBNs, I can say with complete confidence that just because a book is currently in the database doesn't mean it has ever been traded.
