This is really a question for PBS, but I could not find a way to contact them.

I searched for "Modern Flavors of Arabia: Recipes and Memories from My Middle Eastern Kitchen" via its ISBN-10 (0449015610), and the system brought up a completely different book.  The PICTURE of the book that displays is correct, but nothing else is.   It lists a completely different title ("The Children are Gone"), a completely different author ("Arthur Cavanaugh"), and a completely different publication date.

The book that comes up (with the right photo, the right ISBN, but wrong everything else) is available from a member, but I would like to contact them BEFORE ordering it to see WHICH book it is!!

Can anyone assist?

Normally I would say that the publisher reused the ISBN which is pretty common.  But since the picture is for one book and the listing info for another that might not be the case here.  I would submit a data edit to bring it to the attention of the data editing team.  The data edit button is under the More Options tab on the book page.

You can start the order process and then use the Order More From Member button to get their name. If they have set up a profile you can look them up and message them about the book.

Yes, send this one to the book data team.  Have you checked the Amazon links?  What information do they have for the book?  It's possible there's an error somewhere.  When ran across a similar situation, the PBS book listing was incorrect....doesn't happen often, but it does happen occassionally.

OK, I peeked at the PBS listing for that ISBN...shows the picture, but a different title and author.  The Amazon link appears to be for the cookbook also.  So yes, send it to Book Data Editing.

Thanks for the prompt reply.  

I have submitted the data edit (thanks for showing me where that was ... I had assumed there as a way to do that, but couldn't find it), and have PM'd the person who has this book posted (which ever book it actually is!!)

I will keep my eyes open for this data edit to come through and try to sync up the image with the listing's information.  (Note that if this needs to have the listing title changed, that title changes to a PBS listing take some time to happen, because research has to be done, and proof submitted to the site admins that the listing title was never used for the given ISBN -- that the book was never published as this title.)  Gathering the research takes time, and then the change needs to be approved by the site admins before it can be made in the system, especially when there are copies of the book in the system, or members wishing for the book.

(Normally, books SHOULD BE posted by ISBN and the following criteria should match the posted book: same title, author, ISBN and book/binding type.  Cover image doesn't enter into the posting equation at all.  So, if the member posted their book correctly in the above instance, it is NOT the cookbook they have posted to the site. Unfortunately, there are members that post their books by the image displayed on the listing...)
