There is a book that I saw listed either on this website or another book club and I can't remember the title or the author.  The story is about a mother's son who is accused of a murder, I believe and the book's plot is concerned with how a parent's, especially a mother's love and possibly smothering upbringing can influence her child.  If anyone knows this book please let me know.

That is a pretty vague description but what came to my mind is "We Need to Talk About Kevin".  Probably not the one but thought I'd throw it out there just in case!

There is another book that sounds similar called "Before and After".  I can't remember the author as I read  it a while ago.  I beleive it was made into a movie as well.  Hope you find what you're looking for!   Brooke
