I don't think I would ever use it.  The thought of just leaving a book in a public area doesn't appeal to me.  I like to know where my books go.

I've received BC books before, but it's been quite some time.  Like June, I wouldn't want to just leave a book somewhere in hopes that someone would pick it up before it got rained or snowed on or someone just threw it in the trash.

I don't think I'd ever do it.  You never know if the person who gets your book will reciprocate or just trash it.

Often you will know when they end up.  I have not used bookcrossing for a long time, but I still occasionally get notifications of a book that was logged.  Kind of fun to see them travel and have notice come out of the blue.

I left Bookcrossing a long time ago because most of the books sent out were soiled or ripped. It was nice when I first started there but the quality of books deteriorated over time. And, you don't HAVE to leave books somewhere. There are book boxes and games to swap books same as here.

I like the concept of bookcrossing, but I my detest getting a pristine book with a sticker in it, so could never bring myself to put one in a book (or even write the number in it).  I'd do it for unpostable books, though,  Maybe that's why the condition of bookcrossing books has deteriorated?

I haven't gotten a bookcrossing book through PBS in years but when I first started trading here, PBS had a large number of overly enthusiastic bookcrossing members. I received some books that were plastered with bc stickers, and a few members were really pushy about the books being logged into the bookcrossing site. For a while I had a 'no bookcrossing books' RC.

So did I, Lsressler.  And you're right... I turned my "no bookcrossing books" RC off and haven't gotten one in ages.
