I understood the following (from the Help Docs) to mean that if a book was issued with a CD, that CD had to accompany the book to be postable-- Supplementary/Accompanying Materials:
So yesterday I received a PM from someone who said the book I requested from her does not have the CD with it -- do I still want it? In this particular case, no. I want the CD. But I did ask her if the book was postable without the CD.
I haven't heard anything back from her yet and the transaction hasn't been cancelled.
I'm confused by the phrase "books that require supplementary media." I don't know that the CDs are actually *required" or not -- or does that phrase mean that they *are* required if they were originally included with the book?
I've been holding off posting books with CDs until I actually find the CDs (I usually take them out of the book and put them in a case for protection). And I thought the original CDs were required, so it didn't occur to me to PM the sender to make sure they were there? |

Kris, you are correct in your assesment. The CD's MUST be included with the book it if says that it comes with a CD. The same is true with kids books that come with audio cassettes and such. You shouldn't have had to PM the sender....she shouldn't have posted the book without the CD. :) ETA: You may want to let her know that SHE needs to be the one to cancel the book so that you don't lose your place in the WL line (if it was WL'd).....she made the error, not you. But please, do it kindly! LOL Last Edited on: 3/5/08 2:24 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Thanks Amanda!
ETA -- Ah -- I see what's happened now. She apparently had printed the wrapper (after which I cannot cancel), but then it showed up again this morning. It's rolled over to the next person with the book. Last Edited on: 3/5/08 5:33 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |
