I tried to mail out two books on Saturday, but our mail got picked up a couple of hours early that day, for whatever reason, so the books didn't make it out that day. By the time I thought of driving them to the post office it was already closed. So I can't get them mailed until Monday, when the new postage rate is in effect. I used printable postage, so I can't just add extra stamps. And last time I tried to re-print a wrapper it wouldn't let me change the mail date. I don't know whether it would cause problems to re-print a wrapper with no printable postage when I've already printed it once with printable postage; plus, I can't use stamps on the wrapper anyway because all the stamps I have are too big to fit. Also, I already marked the books as mailed, because I was sure they were going in Saturday's mail (normally our mail never comes before noon). I have no idea how to fix this. Does anybody have any ideas? I feel terrible; I'm worried I'm not going to be able to mail these books, and I already marked them mailed.

Can you run them to your Post Office today?  Will they fit thru the drop slot in the lobby or the blue boxes outside?  If so, I'd do that so they get in the mailstream now.  My PO lobby is open Sundays even though the counter is not.

You can add extra stamps to printable postage if you have to.  You are a "known" mailer because you used online postage, even if the amount of postage was not correct.  If you can't get the books to the PO today, just add the extra stamps to make the postage correct and leave them in your mailbox tomorrow.  It'll be fine, I'm sure the PO runs into this kind of thing every rate increase.

If you have the printable postage on the package, just put them in the blue boxes...assuming they will fit.

I took them to the post office this morning, and the woman behind the counter told me they both had enough postage on them. Strange... but I'm not complaining :)
