Would like some suggestions for novels where either the Male or Female lead character has a special ability or gift.

Premonitions, able to read thoughts, talks to animals, sees spirits, etc. etc.

A couple of books I have liked for example are:

The Healer by Sharon Sala

Aftershock, Silhouette Nocture Trilogy by authors Sala, Hudson, and Cowan

For Her Eyes Only by Cait London

Any help is greatly appreciated!!! :o)

All of the main characters in Christine Feehan's Game series have special abilities.   Same for the heroines in Lara Adrian's Kiss series.

If you like historicals along these lines, Elizabeth Lowell had a trilogy that was really good...

Untamed, Forbidden & Enchanted.

A Stone Creek Christmas by Linda Lael Miller - the heroine can communicate with animals
the Family Secrets series / Silhoutte Intimate Moments - several books, each family member has a different unique talent

Annette Blair has a series about triplet witches, each witch has a different ability:

Sex and the Psychic Witch (Triplet Witch, Bk 1)
Gone with the Witch (Bk 2)
Never been Witched (Bk 3)

and Book 3: The Scot, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Accidental Witch series) - the herioine has actual powers too.

Unfortunately, these books are WL'd.

The Sookie Stackhouse and Harper Connelly books by Charlaine Harris.

Sookie is telepathic and Harper can tell how a person dies by being near their bones.

The Nikki Styx series by Terri Garey.   Nikki gains the ability to see and talk to spirits after a near-death experience.

The Viking trilogy by Josie Litton.  If I remember correctly, each of the women has some kind of magical ability.

There are a whole bunch of historical romances now that are paranormals.  Kathleen Kennedy, Sandra Schwab.  And a bunch more.

The Bride Finder (and the  following two books in the series) by Susan Carroll features heros with supernatural abilties and regular heroines.  It's an interesting take, but only The Bride Finder was memorable for me.  Her other books also tend to have characters with some special abilities.  They are all historicals

There are also the Jayne Krentz/Amanda Quick under her Jayne Castle pseudonym which is a combiination sci-fi romantic series.

I think I like the Jayne Castle series better than the Arcane society books in both her contemporary (Krentz) and historical books (Quick).

But Jayne Krentz is good no matter what name she writes under and what genre.

Many of the Christiana Dodd books but most specifically the Darkness Chosen series.

Christina Skye has her bio-engineered S.E.A.L.S. and dogs in the Code Name books.

And, don't forget Harry Potter and the Worst Witch.

Also Kaye Hooper -- mystery/thriller with paranormal thrown in -- especially used in finding killers

Jayne Ann Krentz' "Absolutely, Positively"

http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/k/jayne-ann-krentz/absolutely-positively.htm

The hero is a psychic in the sense of mind-reader.  Very, VERY romantic.  Sweet at the end, too ;)

The Wizard's Daughter, by Catherine Coulter, should meet your requirements. It's currently posted on my shelf, and if you order it from me I'll send you another romance novel for free. Just PM me if you're interested and don't mind my shameless plug of my shelf. :)

Enchanting the Lady by Kathryne Kennedy. I'll be finished with it tonight and just started it two nights ago...couldn't put it down. The lead man is a shapeshifter.
