I really enjoyed the Compass Club books by Jo Goodman (definate guilty pleasure and my first real romance books). I usually like mysteries and british chick lit. Does anyone have a sugesstion for another series like this one (historical romance)? I usually like it to have a little suspense/mystery. I also just read the Pink Carnation books  and  liked those as well. Thanks for any ideas.

You'd probably like Goodman's other books as well. Another romance author somewhat similar in style is Madeline Hunter. You might also like Liz Carlyle. And welcome to the dark side. ;-)

The Wallflower series by Lisa Kleypas is excellent.

Celeste Bradley has some spy romance series books that aren't unbearable to read.  And you might try some Joanna Bourne.  Spymaster's Lady & My Lord and Spymaster.  Meredith Duran's Written on Your Skin & Bound By Your Touch reminded me a great deal of Jo Goodman, but Duke of Shadows is far & away her best work, IMO.

I haven't read the older Goodmans, but  love reading her since A Season to Be Sinful, favorites after that If His Kiss is Wicked and Price of Desire.

Since you like historicals and mysteries, have you tried Deanna Raybourn?  I liked those a lot, and now I'm also loving The Sebastian St. Cyr historical mystery seres by CS Harris (aka Candice Proctor).
