I've had two books that I ordered in August never show up, and now there's a third book on my list that I suspect will be marked missing by the system because the person who "sent" it to me sent me a message after marking it sent, saying, "I can't find the book." Since I'm the one with the books that don't show up, I feel like it's making my account look bad. The first missing book had DC on it, and got marked as accepted at the sender's local post office, but no other information ever showed up.

Does anyone know how many missing/lost books I'd have to have before a "black mark" showed up on my account? It's been bothering me, especially since the three of them are all within the span of a month.

April,

It will take a pattern of problems to reflect badly on a member here. And the PBS Team is very fair. I, too have a few books in the last month that are taking forever to show up. It may have to do with the hurricanes and mail routes being disrupted.

Have you since communicated with the member who couldnt find the book? That member should have cancelled the request if they were unable to mail so the system could have requested the book from the next member who had it posted. Check your Transaction Archive to see if there arent two entries, one for the one that couldnt find and another for the new member who is sending it.

If there is only one, you may want to send a message asking if they ever found and mailed the book. And if they didnt mail it but marked it as mailed, ask them to contact PBS so your credit can be returned with out this showing as  "Lost in the Mail".

PBS will have a record of the PMS they sent you. So if they see a rash of lost books  on your account they'll know to discount that one.

I think the severe weather hitting Texas, Louisianna, Ohio and other areas is causing a lot of late books.  I've never had problems before and so far I've had 1 DVD and 1 book go lost and a couple others about to go lost.  All coming to me.  I've noticed the books I've sent taking longer to get cross country as well.

I am supposed to have 2 books coming from TX but I don't know what parts.  One has been declared lost andanother will be in a couple of days.  It's all too likely they've encountered storm delays or accidents.  It won't matter - they are only books and I can always get another one.  Just hope all my native TX friends and families are doing okay!
