I have 16 books backed up on my "Books you've sent'' page that I've mailed since Oct 18th when I started using printable postage. Usually the books I mail move much faster and are received and off that page sooner than this.

One still says "The USPS has been advised to expect your package for shipment.'' The book was mailed more than a week ago....and has I guess never been scanned?? I'm a bit worried as it's only going 1 state over, which usually takes 3-4 days even for media mail. What happens if this book goes lost?? I used printable postage....but with it saying the USPS still "expects it''....am I going to lose my credit if it goes lost? It was mailed out with several other books, and all of those have been scanned locally and at least at one other stop along their route.

And two of the books have never been scanned since they were scanned at the local post office here.

The rest are safely (I hope) enroute, but just seem to be taking longer.

Anyone else noticing this?? I'm a bit nervous since I weighed all these packages myself and used the printed postage.

I had a book coming from 1 state over that took 2 weeks to get to me while others received their books much more quickly from the same sender.

It is all a crap shoot....some books get there quickly and others take more time.  I mailed a book on a Sat to go to Oregon and it was there on Monday (from Texas no less!).  I also mailed a book to India and it was there in 6 days.  and like I said above, some have mailed books to me that have taken 2 weeks.

I would fret about it yet

Definitely taking forever!! I have some books coming 3 days from 3,000 miles and then others taking 3 weeks from 200 miles away. Very very annoying and when you check the details you will see that a book sometime will sit at a post office for 4-5 days before being moved along...how is that overlooked that long?

We're paying for AWFUL service, but it's a monopoly.

Media mail is shipped on a space available basis.  Which is why it is cheaper usually and sometimes takes a long time.

well not for me I have  mailed 3 books (using the printed postage and I mailed one on Saturday

from California and it already arrived  today! and nots just the first book that did either

to me its seems that using the DC and printed postage seem to make it go faster (either that or luck!)

I have found that the media mail is moving much more slowly lately too.  I can't see it getting any betters with the holidays coming up, so I guess we just have to deal with it.

For me, everything coming via USPS has been moving slower the past couple of weeks. My car payment bill was 5 days late in arriving. Not that I necessarily want it, but I don't want the consequences of not paying it either. A CD ordered from Amazon sat over on the other side of the state for at least 5 days. I could go on, but I won't. It's not just books from PBS, it's everything.
