OK  I know this was asked before but I did a search and older and hero brought up so many threads that I just didn't have the patience to wade through them all.

I love the older man younger woman set up.  Any recs for books where the hero is more than 10 yrs older than the heroine.   Like maybe 15-20 yrs older?  (I have a thing for older men-most of the stars I drool over are over 50 and it's always been that way)

I think The Admiral's Bride by Brockmann has a much older man(it's one of the shorter books though) I think a lot of Diana Palmer's have older heroes too. I know I've read some more and I'm drawing a blank..I actually like ones with couples in their 40's (like me!) but most seem to have young uns.

there's a listing on AAR for special titles and one of them is May/December - December/May, it lists both older hero/younger heroine and older heroine/younger hero books, and the age span some of them, that might help.

Yup! If it's a Diana Palmer, you're almost guaranteed an older man and a virgin with self-esteem issues. But who can resist? I highly recommend Lawless. He arrests her father (his ranching partner) for child abuse, then marries her (when she's only 16) to provide guardianship and protect her inheritance. Much better if you're plugged into the Long, Tall Texans/Jacobsville thing. Also very good DP: Once in Paris. She's a college student. He's a widower contemplating suicide.

As quilt938 mentioned, Suzanne Brockmann's The Admiral's Bride, he was much older. This book is a Silhouette Intimate Moments and part of Brockmann's Tall, Dark and Dangerous series. This is a great SEALs series and prequels her larger Troubleshooters series.

  1. Prince Joe
  2. Forever Blue
  3. Frisco's Kid
  4. Everyday, Average Jones
  5. Harvard's Education
  6. Hawken's Heart (aka It Came Upon a Midnight Clear)
  7. The Admiral's Bride
  8. Identity: Unknown
  9. Get Lucky
  10. Taylor's Temptation
  11. Night Watch

If you are okay with category books, there are several older man and older couple stories in Rachel Lee's Conard County series. Most of the heroes in this series are Vietnam or Desert Storm veterans; some with disabilities, others with PTSD, etc.

  1. Exile's End (also re-issued in Destination Conard County 2-story anthology)
  2. Cherokee Thunder (also re-issued in Destination Conard County 2-story anthology)
  3. Miss Emmaline and the Archangel (also re-issued in A Conard County Homecoming 2-story anthology)
  4. Ironheart (also re-issued in A Conard County Homecoming 2-story anthology)
  5. Lost Warriors (much older man, friend of her father)
  6. Point of No Return (great book about older married couple)
  7. Thunder Mountain
  8. A Question of Justice
  9. A Conard County Reckoning
  10. Nighthawk
  11. Cowboy Comes Home
  12. The Catch of Conard County
  13. Boots & Badges
  14. Involuntary Daddy
  15. The Dream Marine (In The Heart's Command anthology w/stories by Merline Lovelace and Lindsay McKenna)
  16. I'll Be Home (in A Soldier's Christmas anthology w/stories by Merline Lovelace and Catherine Mann)
  17. A Soldier for All Seasons (In Holiday Heroes anthology w/story by Catherine Mann)
  18. A Soldier's Homecoming
  19. Protector of One - due to be released in April 2009

Re-releases of several (all?) of the Conard County series is in process. Check out the Conard County website for more info.

GREAT erotic romance (Victorian) w/older couple: Scandalous Lovers by Robin Schone.

GREAT erotic romance (Contemporary) w/older man: Shameless by Lora Leigh (Bound Hearts 7 - Available separate as e-book from Ellora's Cave or in Shameless Embraces 2-story anthology).

Happy reading!

Colleen

The Surprise of His Life by Karen Keast, SSE 668 - not only is he quite a bit older (16-20 yrs.), he's her father's best friend/business partner.

Isn't there some sort of rule that if the hero is 15 or more years older than the heroine, he has to wear yellow polo shirts and ugly plaid golf slacks?  Okay, but seriously...  I don't see this so much anymore, but it used to be standard, in historicals anyway, that the hero was at least 10yrs older.  Nowadays, many readers tend to find it a little icky to have the large age gaps if the hero is the older person in the relationship.  Talk about role reversal.  What used to be Joe Average is now a suspected ped:P

Years by Lavyrle Spencer has a 17 year age diff.

edited to add By Arrangement Madeline Hunter.  There was probably a 10-15 year age difference in that one I think.
