I have truly loved Patricia Briggs Mercy series.  I have not read any of her other titles.  If you have, would you recommend them?  She has several series--I was wondering about the Dragon Bones series.  What did you think?

TIA!!

I would be interested in the answer to this also.  I've only read the Mercy series so far.

I really liked Dragon Bones and Dragon Blood.  Much more of a traditional fantasy road trip book.   I read the Raven/bird series as well.  Actually I've read them all except the first one.  My fave is still the Dragon ones.  Much more family (sibling) drama rather than romance.  Would be appropriate for YA.   The main focus is a young man who has been playing stupid to avoid his abusive father's attention.  And what happens when that is no longer needed.  Very different than Mercy.

I, too, would be interesed in this answer.

I recently read Cry Wof, and really liked it.  It of course is not about Mercy, but another heroine, and I liked her "almost" as much as Mercy.  Coinsides with Mercy's world, though.  I will be waiting that sequel.

i was reading Patricia Briggs' fantasy novels before she started writing the Mercy books, and i thought they were great.  i think my first one was the standalone The Hob's Bargain, and i particularly enjoyed Dragon Bones and the Raven duology.  i didn't like Dragon Blood as much as Dragon Bones, but they're definitely worth reading.

hopefully Masques will get re-released one of these days.

I should have Masques coming to me soon through the Patricia Briggs forum. They have a few that get passed around to people on the sign up list.

Dragon Bones and Dragon Blood are the only Patricia Briggs books I've read so far.  Both were very good!  But yes, they're traditional fantasy, not urban/paranormal.  The first one caught me up right away, and I was especially taken with a character called Orec.  :)

So yeah, if you like her writing and you are OK with fantasy settings then I'd say give them a go.

Thanks guys!  Just put the others on my wish list!  I'm looking forward to the dragon books, they sound like the kind of "take me away" fantasy I could get into.

I've been on the wish list forevea for many of the older PBriggs books....I'm still waiting. They move very, very slow.  I understand that due to her popularity w/ the Mercy series...a few of her old books may be re-released, which would be a good thing for all us waiting.

Far as I know 'Masques' does not have a re-issue date yet. I think it's the only older book of hers not re-issued.

She has a half written sequel to Masques.  It was to be reissued with the second part /sequel.  But her publisher has asked for more Mercy rather than finishing it.  So the reissue is in limbo.  There was a very small printing of it orginally.  So, between not getting reissued and limited run, Masques is really hard to find and sells for big bucks.

Erin, thanks for the information. We have all the other Patricia Briggs titles apart from Masques and had been trying to work out how we could get to read it. Just added our name to the list, thank you!!
