This sounds a bit silly to be posting about but I can't figure it out. I am trying to list the 3 books I am currently reading on my profile page. I go to my profile and enter the isbn's of the books and hit done...but then only one of them shows up. And when I click on edit again it only shows that one book. Can I enter more than one? And if I can then how do I do it? It seems to want to delete anything else I enter lol. Thanks in advance for the help! |

Yes Stefanie, there are space to enter 5 books in the "I'm Currently Reading" box of your profile. I have the best results by only using the ISBN as book titles sometimes bring up the wrong book. Are you entering your 3 books in seperate boxes, or all in the same box? From your Profile page, go to the blue I'm Currently Reading box, click the 'edit' button. There should be 5 spaces, use the top one and enter your ISBN. Move to the second blank box and add your next ISBN. To remove a book, click on the red X on the right hand side, you can then enter a new book or leave blank. When finished, click the 'Done' button. You know, the other day I was updating mine, and for some reason, even though I had all 5 spots filled, it only displayed 3. I changed one of the entries to a different book (since I'm reading more than 5 right now), and it displayed all 5 again. There might be something that needs tweaked. If Denise's advice doesn't work, Stefani, you might want to send in some Feedback about it. Go to the Contact Us link, under the Company heading among the links at the bottom of the screen. On the Contact page click the gray "Send Us Feedback" button, and you'll be taken to the page from which your message will be sent. |

Also, if you are using the Chrome browser, try it using Firefox. |

Well last night I was using Firefox and it didn't want to work with either title or ISBN. I tried it with IE just now, and I got two of them but apparently it also doesn't like isbn's for ebooks...which makes sense. But whatever was wrong with it, I think I have it working now. Thanks for the help! But it is rather odd because I did nothing different than what I did last night and it worked, so maybe something is buggy with it, I'll send in some feedback anyway so they can look into it. |

This thread made me realize that I hadn't changed my BIR since about...March? I just went to change it, and it accepted all five books. I like to see books I'm reading showing there, I'm going to try to keep them more up to date. Diane |

It does the same thing for me sometimes too, and I have no idea why...like you, I'll type in 2 or 3 or 4 books in there (yes, one in each space, and yes, clicking 'done' when I am) and only one of them shows up. I have tried using ISBN, title/author, sometimes even a different version of the book with a different ISBN...sometimes it doesn't make a difference. Sometimes they all show up. I have tried using Firefox (my primary browser) and IE, and it's not that, it's something to do with the books themselves but no idea what. Cheryl

Cheryl, maybe your mother-in-law has an app to filter out any books she doesn't think you should be reading. But only sometimes. Last Edited on: 12/19/11 9:26 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Using the ISBN is the most reliable way, but occasionally it just won't work. The first thing to do is make sure your browser is set to "always check for newer versions" because the browser may be using the cached version of the page, rather than the newest one. Also, you may find that a browser sometimes just doesn't work. If this is the case, just use a different one than the one you are using. |

I discovered I had a book I'd never read as the only one in my Favorite Books section, and nothing I did would get rid of it or allow me to change that section to anything else. But all of the other sections could be updated easily. I finally switched out of Chrome to Internet Explorer (which I usually find too poky on most sites), and it worked fine. So sometimes a different browser makes a difference. I find that on other sites, too. It's good to have a backup just to be sure. |
