I ordered two books from the same member some time ago. The deadline for receipt of these books is coming up soon. If I do not receive them, how do I go about retrieving my credits. I'm disappointed because I really wanted to read these books, but stuff happens.

Wendy, if the books never arrive, they will be considered lost in the mail by PBS, and your credits will be returned.  However, sometimes books arrive even after being marked lost, and that might affect your re-ordering the book.  If you go to the help center and type in "book never received" you'll get a lot of helpful information on this subject.  I hope they are just delayed and you get them soon!

The system will automatically give the credits back when the books go lost in the system. If there are other copies of them, it will order another copy, if there are no other copies, it will put it on you WL or Reminder List. You can always PM the sender before another copy is ordered in case they sent it late and you will get the books soon.

Also, remember books coming from Hawaii and Alaska often times get right at the "lost" date or sometimes actually roll over to "lost" and then show up a few days later.

The help docs also say to wait at least 2 wks before reordering them incase they show up.  You still have to mark them received even if they go lost.  Some times MM takes awhile or books take a detour before getting to the right place.
