I just got a wave of books in and posted and I have EIGHT books that I have to ship out this pay. Is Media Mail the cheapest shipping possible? I need any tips on saving the most that I possibly can. I just moved into a new house and 8 books at once is a strain! Thanks for listening. :)

Yes.  Media Mail is the cheapest.

Welcome to our addiction.

If the book is small enough, sometimes First Class is cheaper because it goes by weight. When I mail them I always say, "These are books, I'd like them mailed first class or media mail- whichever is cheaper!"

Media is usually the cheapest. PBS usually estimates pretty close to what it should cost. However, I have it happen a few times where PBS printed at Media Mail...but when I took it to the post office...she weighed it and said First Class would be cheaper....I mean it saved me like 20 cents...but hey, it's still saving something!!

When I go, I always ask them to weigh each book for First Class and Media Mail...then pick whatever is the cheapest.

Also, if you know you are sending it Media Mail...make sure you mention you are sending books, that way you get the book rate :)

**If you want to save some more on postage, you could always offer a deal on your bookshelf in the Book Bazaar forum. I know personally, I rather send out 2 books for 1 credit and save on postage big time, rather than sending 1 book out for 1 credit.

Have a great day!!

...and good luck saving!!!!!!!! :)
