Hi, everyone, it has been a long time since I have posted in the forums but have been busy with reading and grandchildren.  Yesterday, I received a BOB request for 2 books. Just to be on the safe side, I went to my "real" bookshelf to make sure I had the books before I started asking for the other's member's books. Both of the books were not on my "real" shelf. I was really puzzled by this so I then went to my Transaction Archive and, sure enough, both of these books had been requested and mailed a while ago (months). I sent her a message and she told me the same thing happened to her. Has anyone else had this happen and what is going on with PBS? Thanks.

I have had this happen just once or twice in my 7+ years here at PBS. Just a glitch, not a common occurrence in my experience. And you did exactly the right thing, confirming that you had the book before accepting the request. It's so frustrating when you request a book, a member accepts and 5 days later you get a PM saying they can't find the book.

Thanks, Sally. I learned the hard way to check first. It was another BOB swap and 3 of the 4 books were not on my shelf after I had already agreed to send them and chose books from the swapper's shelf. I was so embarrassed!

I have had it happen once. I thought I was going crazy.

When I did BOB I had this happen once. Turns out 2 boxers put the same book in their box. I accepted and had sent the books out in 1 of the 2 boxes (the first one to seal the deal), but they were still in the other boxer's box when we later sealed the deal. I didn't realize that they wouldn't automatically be removed from the other person's box once they were no longer available.
