Kim--

You might want to read the Help Center document titled "When Can I Expect to Get My Book?".  It talks about Media Mail and possible reasons for delays.

Cheers,
Catt

The book you most want to get seems to take the longest to get to you.  Been waiting for a couple from a swap to get to me and they seem to be taking FOREVER.  In reality, it's been like a week which is totally normal.  But I want them now so they just seem to be on the slow truck.

UT is probably slower around tax time since it has a major IRS processing center. I know our area was extended until May 15th because of disasters so April 15th wasn't necessarily the end of that, plus there's quarterly payroll reports.

I lived in Utah for 10 years - from 1996-2006 - and Utah mail is just slow. Even going from one place in the Salt Lake valley to the other, it's just plain slow (IRS is up in Ogden so that wouldn't have anything to do with it). But that said, you've only been a member for a short while and media mail is notorious slow so perhaps it's just a fact of getting used to the turtle's pace of media mail!

I noticed media mail has been really slow also.  My mom sends me stuff all the time and it used to take a couple days and now it just takes forever, same with waiting for my books and waiting for books to be received that I sent out.  I actually had one book with tracking on it that was halfway to me and then went all the way back to it's destination point for some reason, that book took soooo long to get to me.  And of course it was part of a series I am reading.

I sent a book to Utah that really did take forever to get to the person.  It actually had one day to go before becoming a lost book.  I use PBS DC and could see that the book was in Utah, in fact supposedly in the town where the person lived.  They just didn't have it in their hands for whatever reason.

Now, I live in Michigan and just received a book today the 13th sent media mail on the 11th!  How's that for a shocker?
