What am I doing something wrong? I have searched for 68 different books I have been looking for and can't get any.  All I look for has options to Buy It New.  Even if you click there, it tells you the book is not available.  Since my search was considerably large I should be able to at least get one or two books in exchange for my credits. 

You need to change your search parameters to all books instead of only posted books. It seems all the books you ar elooking for are wish list books.

It sounds like all 68 of the books that you searched for are wishlisted books here on PBS.  They aren't available in the PBS system currently.   If that is the case, you have the option of clicking on "Buy It New" through Amazon.com or adding the book to your wishlist.  I encourage you to add the books to your wishlist and you'll get them sooner or later.

Give us some examples of the titles you are looking for.  Some books are very popular and go in and out the system very quickly.  Others are books people want to read but not buy...those take a while to circulate.  Some you might be able to get in a "deal" if you will take an unpostable as your choice. 

Not to be facetious - but welcome to PBS.  Start putting those books on your wishlist now and keep looking.  So many people read all the same books and want to get the others here, but there aren't enough coming in to the system.  Once you get your WL going you'll find you're getting them pretty fast.  Try going for some that are books you would read if you can't get the ones you want right this minute.  Trust me - you'll soon have a To Be Read pile so high you'll wonder why you had a hard time finding books at the start!  It's a lot of fun here so give it a little time.

ETA - you don't have a profile.  If you have a profile people can find you and your bookshelf much easier and you'll find "buddies" with whom you can post books directly to getting around the FIFO system. Good Luck.

Also, unless you need a specific edition, consider alternate editions.  I noticed at least one of the books on your wish list ("The Giver") has other editions currently available from members -- other books may as well.
