I am confused and hope you all can help me figure this out. On my account page it shows that I have 1039 books posted. When I click on my Bookshelf tab, it gives the total of 967 books posted.  Why the difference in numbers?

If your bookshelf is sorted by author, I don't think any without an author listed will show up.  This could account for the difference.

Beats me...but when I look at your shelf, I'm seeing 1039, so they aren't "hidden" from prospective buyers.smiley.

If you sort by author then those that do not have a listed author do not show up...

To see the total, sort by date or by title.  Anthologies and textbooks often do not have authors.

Wow, that's a lot of books without authors! That is what is happening. I resorted your Bookshelf to by Author and it dropped down to 967, put it back to Title and it went back up to 1039

Thanks everyone, you were all right. Duh, on my part, lol  Melanie, you're right that is a lot of books without authors, really threw me for a loop with the wide difference in numbers. Looks like some of my children's books and a lot of my teacher resource books are the ones without authors.

If you click on a book's title, then on "more options" --> "edit book data", you can add the authors, and any other missing info.

If there is an editor, you'd list her as

Cara Jones (Editor)

If there are two or more authors, just separate them with a comma

Bruce Lyson, Ann Cory, Mason Teller

If there's no author at all, figure out someone you can list as an editor.  Leaving the author box blanks causes problems.
