Wow, i've been reading all of these posts and I guess I can consider myself lucky! Every book that I have received has been in new or nearly new condition, wrapped properly, and shipped in a timely manner - thanks to you all!!!

My question is - how long do you keep books on your book shelf? I have been a member almost a year now and some of my original books are still on there.

I have dial-up (sigh) and can't get the blinkies or pics to work before I fall asleep so here is just a plain post.

I keep my books on the shelf till they are requested. Not to long ago some books that have been on there forever have gotten requested. I have been a member for over 2 years now and some of my original books are still there as well.

I leave them indefinitely, too.  As long as I have room to store them...

I've been a member for a year and a half and this summer I've had a great run of requests for books I posted in January of '06.  You know, those books with a gazillion copies in the system that you think will be on your shelf forever?  Well, they're flying off my shelf lately.    :)

sometimes I offer a 2 for 1 deal (or even 3 for 1) and it gets rid of the older books.  (check out the book bazaar)

Flobee, I think your experience is probably more common than you would think from reading forums.   LOL all the complaints are here (but some happy stuff too).  Probably plenty of ppl are getting great books without problems and may not even come to the forums...

Thanks for all of the suggestions, I didn't realize that I could offer 2 for 1. You are right, every now and then a book that I posted last Sept gets requested.

By the way, I just love all of the kittie pictures :)  I have 3 cats and one of them helps me read by biting on the book cover and trashing my bookmarks!

I have a fairly small bookshelf and enough space at home to keep the books around so I leave them on the shelf until they are requested, too.

I still have some of my original books on my bookshelf, too.  I wonder if my old John Grisham and Patsy Cornwell books will ever be requested, but I figure with FIFO they could be -- eventually.  As long as I have room to store them, I'll keep them on my bookshelf.  Maybe one day I'll get motivated enough to offer them 2 for 1, though.
