Born Again
Author: Charles W. Colson
In no other way just another book on Watergate, BORN AGAIN is like a breath of fresh air. As I read these absorbing pages I was supplied with solid encouragement and hope, for if God can still reach down and reverse the direction of a modern man's life as he did with Charles Colson, then not a one of us or our families are beyond His reach. — One...  more »

Chuck Colson served in the Nixon White House as a "hatchet man" and one of Nixon's closest administration aids. As Nixon lost his Presidency, Chuck Colson went to prison for his misdeeds in Nixon's inner circle.

Colson learned the hard way that absolute power corrupts absolutely. During this period in Colson's life, he suffered the consequences of his life of power and intrigue. He was convicted and went to prison. But, he also learned a valuable lesson that is available to all of us. He learned that no matter what crimes one has committed in the past, forgiveness and reconciliation is available to all.

Chuck Colson paid his debt to society and went on to be the foremost advocate for prison reform in this country. Through his organization, Prison Fellowship Ministry, he has shown prisoners in the United States and throughout the world that they are valued by their creator and can become productive members of society.

I have been a supporter and volunteer with Prison Fellowship Ministry for about 20 years now and have seen personally the way God can change hardened criminals into men and women whose only desire is to be of service to their their fellow man.

Read this book ... It can change your life.

"Tough, wily, nasty and tenaciously loyal to Richard Nixon" was Time magazine's description of Charles Colson. Was this White House "hatchet-man" truly Born Again? The ex-Marine Captain who supposedly boasted he would run over his own grandmother to reelect the president?
Born Again is the fascinating full story behind the most puplicized conversion of its decade. An insider's view of the Nixon White House.
Brutally honest reporting by Colson takes the reader behind the scenes to the smashing Nixon victory in 1972. He describes what should have been his moment of greatest triumph, his deadness of spirit, and his confrontation that led to his spiritual rebirth.

This book chronicles the movement of the hatchet man of the Nixon era to his faith in
Jesus Christ to prison and on to a ministry of Prison reform and to a modern day bibli-
cal apologist. He went from a life of shallow meaning to one of national and eternal
significance.

Born Again may well contain the most candid scenes and reliable conclusions to emerge from Watergate. But it is much more; it is the story of one man's unrelenting search for meaning which led to the surprise plea of guilty and long months in federal prison.
For all those struggling with an inner emptiness in our computer-controlled, coldly impersonal society, Born Again charts the way to a new life and new hope.

Charles Colson was involved in the Watergate scandal. He became a born again Christian and ministered in prisons after his own release.
This is his story.
