I could not get through this book. I found the characters unbelievable and not particularly likable. The story is far-fetched. The book also plays to a lot of stereotypes especially negative one-sided stereotypes.

As a parent, the idea that someone - no matter how well intentioned - can take off with a child with no real consequences is disturbing. That perhaps is the main reason I could not get through the book.
