Hi all. I just purchased a set of mailing scales from PBS cause I'm trying to cut down on all the trips to the PO and all the rudeness I run into from the main PO clerk there. I've never used these before so it's new to me and would like any tips anyone may have to give me. One question I have is...do y'all wrpa the book/s first and then weigh the total package or what before you print out postage? That's one of my main concerns on how to go about getting the right postage but am still up for any advice you all might have for me. Thanks and if I don't reply right away I will get back to you asap, I'm going to be gone for a while today. Melissa :) |

Put the book inside the wrapper (or on top of it) and weigh the whole package, then round up to the next full ounce. For example, if it weighs 5.4 ounces, round it up to 6 ounces when calculating the postage. |

I weigh the books and if they are close to being between weights.. I will wrap and then weight then again (in the wrapper) and add .2 ounces for the actual taping of the label. |
