This is a must read for all parents... please! As a person who works with adults involved with drugs and alcohol and the court system, if most of them had had boundaries set as a child, I really don't think that I would be dealing with them now. So I apply the ideas in this book to my work and try to teach adults what should have been taught to them as children.

If you don't get this book off here soon, buy it. I know that my copy won't be made available (too much highlighting!) and I'm sure that your's won't be either! I'm giving copies of this to all my friends so that they can start using the ideas from toddlerhood on!

BTW... this is a religious minded book. I do hope that you will give it a chance, even if you don't read the bible. The "laws" are geared toward believers and non-belivers alike and if you want your children to live happy and successful lives and be contributing citizens to our world, then you will read this book and use the ideas in it!

One year prior to reading this book I began the search for the "perfect" parenting book. I bought and read Dobson's The Strong Willed Child, Kurchinka's Raising Your Spirited Child, and Tobias's You Can't Make Me (But I Can Be Persuaded). These were all helpful in their own way, but none of them fulfilled my search the way Cloud and Townsend's Boundaries with Kids has. This book applies to the particular task of parenting the principles laid out in their book Boundaries, which was years ago recommended to me by a friend. The principles are founded upon scriptural and reality-based truths. I literally almost shed tears of joy after finishing one of the chapter! This book won't solve all your parenting problems, but it will give you the tools to address them.
