I found the outline of this story intiguing. A fossil of an alien is found on earth who obviously had higher technology but is surrounded by Dinosaurs that it killed defending itself unsuccessfully. The inteligentsia don't believe the facts. The players who found it wind up working in the space program and ultimately on the Mars mission. Good old capitalism outdoes the government again and finds that we are not the only sentients in the universe.

This was a fun book to read that ultimately has the scientists winning over the bureaucrats. Lots of believable just past the cutting edge technology. I recommend it
