I think it just stays there... forever. Okey, not forever, but I have had pending BoBs sitting around for two months.

The same thing happened to me recently, the other boxer never accepted or declined my offer after almost 3 weeks.  I was getting sick of seeing it in my  pending offers page, so what I did was go to the offer, and click "decline offer".  You will find this button on the side where the other person would choose their books.  I did this, and the offer disappeared.  I don't understand how hard it is for people to either accept or decline in a reasonable amount of time.  Either you want to trade or you don't.  Don't be rude and make the other person sit there waiting for a response several weeks later.

If I haven't heard back in about a week, I will usually PM the person.  Sometimes they don't get the email (or it went to their spam folder)  Now that we have the new info on our accounts pages and pending BoBs are included I don't know if I will continue to PM.

Yes, if you want the pending BoB to go away, you will need to do something.  It will stay there indefinitly unless action is taken.

What the others said about it staying there, but, really, 2 days is no time at all.  If you request a book for credit, they get 5 days to respond, so why give any less for BoB?

As KS said, if some days/a week go by I'd PM them and just ask if they realize they have a pending offer waiting.   Some people even send a PM right away just saying something like "Hi, I just sent you a BoB offer, hope you can find something", or whatever.  I don't send them, but I never mind getting them.

KS, I would probably keep sending the PMs. The new "to do" list does show pending BoBs, but not how many...they might still not realize there is a new one.  Just a thought. :-)

I usually wait a week and then follow up with a PM to ensure the recipient realized that I sent a BOB offer.  Two days isn't much time for the other party to respond.  They might not even have logged on during those 2 days or looked but forgot.  Sometimes things happen...just give the other person a bit more time.

It may not be a matter of not being here everyday even, Nancy, they may have only had enough time to read the forums, check their games, and boot on out. I've always got boxes coming and going, and sometimes I just "don't see" that there is a new one. And believe me, I'm here enough that I should answer within two days.

But, sometimes I have too many boxes going and I don't get all the shelves looked at as quickly as I'd like. I mean, afterall, I want to give your shelf a thorough looking over, right? Don't want to miss a book that I might have really wanted by skimming thru them!!! hahahaha just giving you a good reason to hang in there. If you want the book they have, you might have to be a little more patient  :)
