Okay, so I have looked everywhere I can think of on this site and cannot find out if when you sign up for B-o-B if someone requests a box of books do you HAVE to find books from them that you want? What if the person requesting has nothing I want??
Yes, I am totally new to the Box-O-Books bit.

Blossom--You don't have to accept a offer if they don't have anything you want. |

As Laura said, you are perfectly free to decline.
Here is info on both accepting and declining: (Click on the blue link, then on the top help doc) Responding to a Box-O-Books offer Last Edited on: 6/19/10 1:39 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Some people feel like they have to accept every BOB deal. But don't feel guilty if you turn people down. I never do a BOB deal if they have nothing I want just to do the deal. I just decline with a polite "sorry but I don't see anything on your shelf that I want" Last Edited on: 6/19/10 3:34 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Like Mary, I turn the request down if I can't find anything I want/need. If they want a bunch, sometimes I offer a credit deal along with the polite declination, usually something along the lines of "I'm sorry I can't find anything at this time." |

If I dont find anything, I will offer the other member a 2 for 1 credit deal if they would like to order them from my shelf through regular channels. Sometimes I will only find one I would like and will do uneven BoBs also. Especially if they are ordeing small paperbacks. It doesnt cost more to mail 3 than it does to mail 1. It depends on how badly I want to move the books. If they are going to sit on my shelf for months and months, then sending them to someone who wants them is a win-win for me. |
