I have 648 books listed.  They're on vacation right now, because I'm low on cash.  I understood that I would have to put BoBs on hold separately from my regular bookshelf.  I haven't done that, just put the bookshelf on vaca.  My son, looking for some books, wanted me to offer a couple BoBs, so I did.  Both have been rejected and I just found out why - they can only see 2 of my books!

Can any of you nice Boxers check n see how many books they see?  And can anyone tell me what, if anything, I can do to fix this little glitch?

Thanks!

Anna

If you put your shelf on hold, your BOB also goes on hold. The two books seen must have been added after the hold went into effect. You can put your BOB on hold and keep your shelf active, but not the other way around.

Thanks, guys!  I guess they need to update the Help Center files, because it says Vacation Hold doesn't affect Box-O-Books!  :-(

How does the Vacation Hold affect Box-O-Books?

Box-O-Books is not affected by a Bookshelf Hold.
  • You can put your bookshelf on hold for regular (for-credit) requests, and keep it open to Boxers.
  • In order to hide your bookshelf from Boxers, you will need to Pause your Box-O-Books as well:
    • To do this, click the Settings tab on the far right in the Box-O-Books area.
    • Click
    • To UnPause Box-O-Books later, just go to your Settings again and click the button

Have you tried going into the settings on BOB and see if it is marked wrong? I have my shelf on vacation hold and my BOB on hold. I was just able to go in and remove the hold on my BOB while leaving my shelf on hold. Not sure what others would have seen for a book list, but it said my BOB was active.

My BoB settings tab showed that they weren't on hold, so I clicked to PUT them on hold, then took them off hold again.  Because I have to do SOMETHING!  :-O  I've sent in a feedback form on it, hopefully I'll hear soon!

I had my boxer status off when I checked earlier, but I just turned it on and checked again and still see all your books, but the message that the shelf is on hold. That was by clicking on your button here to see your bookshelf.

However when I did a search for your name in the BOB area it says you have 0 books and your account is on hold.

Well, the zero books might be some sort of progress.  I was curious about the 2 books people could see and Melanie's idea that they were added after the hold made me go look.  Yep, 2, LOL.  So I turned vaca off and back on and the 2 disappeared.  Of course, now there's 2 Wish List Holds, but it was an experiment that was bound to have side effects!

I'm still confused, since Help clearly says vaca has no affect on Box-O-Books but we have evidence to the contrary here, so I'm eagerly awaiting some response from the feedback thingy!  I'll let ya know when I hear.  And what I hear.  :-)

You're back up to 2 books again.

LMBO....  I wonder if those 2 are the two that were on WL Holds, cuz they're not anymore.  I haven't heard back yet from the feedback thing...

Going on 72 hours with no response from R&R or whoever might respond to the feedback submission.  I'm sad.  LOL!  Most of those 72 hours were weekend, though.  So I suppose patience is required.   And I hear it's a virtue, too.  Not that I know much about virtues...

On the up side, I just got back from having a root canal.  And my dentist offered me several crates of books!  Get to pick those up Saturday.  Woo hoo!!!   AND I told them about PBS, of course.  :-)

In case anyone was awaiting the answer... it is....

At this time, when your bookshelf is on hold, it is on hold for Box-O-Books as well as for your main account.  We will put it on our list of changes to make to the site to separate these holds for those who want to Box and not use credits.

So, I guess the Help Center is wrong (IT SAYS: You can put your bookshelf on hold for regular (for-credit) requests, and keep it open to Boxers.) but won't be, once they get to it!  I would have replied and mentioned the discrepancy, but it took so long to get THIS answer that I think they're really busy.
