All I can say is I loved every single thing about this book. After the first few pages I was so engrossed in the story, I couldn't put it down! All the characters are so lovable. Even though they have their own serious issues, you can't help but want the best for them. W.A. Hoffman is a very talented writer and I'm so glad I discovered these books. JUST READ THE BOOK!!! I PROMISE YOU'LL LOVE IT!!!
I don't read historicals much any more, so this (large) book languished awhile on Mt. TBR...my mistake.
This story grabbed me by page 3 and didn't let go until I'd read all 540 pages of action, adventure, friendship, and romance. An incredible writing talent, the author effortlessly combines vivid world building, an elegant writing style, and humor. Easily one of the most readable books I've ever read. I refused to put my copy down until the sequel was ordered and book three reserved at my local library.
