This is the second book in the Golden Falls Fire series, and it is a delicious blend of sweet and sexy. It is beautifully written, and it has everything that I love in a contemporary romance. It can easily be read as a stand-alone, although it will enhance the reader experience if the books are read in order, as the characters and storylines are interrelated.

Haley March is the owner of a matchmaking service in Golden Falls, Alaska- where the men are plentiful, but the women... aren't. She decides to run an ad campaign to try and entice more women to "Bring Their Hearts" to Alaska, and she mentions this to her friend, news anchor Cassie Holt. Cassie uses her connections to put Haley in touch with a national dating site, and they like Haley's idea so much they want to add her project to their national website. They want to feature Haley's own love story as the feature story for her campaign. The problem? Haley has been completely unlucky in the love department, and now she has exactly two months to find her "forever love."

Josh Barnes is an ex-military hero and a Golden Falls firefighter. He is also Mr. December on the Golden Falls Fireman's calendar, so he certainly isn't suffering from a lack of dates. He spends almost all of his free time caring for and training his sled dogs for the big yearly Iditarod race, so he doesn't want to deal with any relationship entanglements.

Josh joins a group of firefighters from the station at one of Haley's matchmaking events as a favor to a friend, and he becomes instantly taken by the combination of Haley's sweet nature and her spicy assertiveness. When they're together, sparks fly, but since Josh "isn't a forever kind of guy", he's off limits. Haley asks Josh to help her by being her dating coach, and to help her improve her image. Josh takes her shopping, (which happens to be a favorite scene of mine!) and shows Haley how sexy she really is. Josh's problem? The more time he spends with Haley, the more certain he is that he doesn't want anyone else to have her...

I loved watching the dance between Josh the "lone wolf" and Haley the "butterfly". The first book in this series took place mostly in the wilderness around Golden Falls, while this second book is set within the town. It was described so vividly that I felt like I was right there- walking down the streets during the tree lighting ceremony, and looking at Denali's peak off in the distance. The sex scenes were hot yet tastefully done, and the the characters are described in such a way that you feel as if you know them. The dialogue is fun and lively, and each character is well developed.

I truly do love this series! I'm off to start reading the next book in the series: From the Ashes. I certainly hope that there will be many more Golden Falls Fire books in the future.
I received an ARC of this book (as well as grabbing my own finished copy), and I voluntarily chose to write an honest review.
