The story tells of Marla, a young woman that can seem weird, who had sadly had a stillbirth!
Soon after Marla had stolen a baby from the hospital, this was quickly fixed, after all Marla's mother was in charge of the hospital!! Soon after an 'angel' knocks on Marla's door and delivers a baby to Marla, she can't believe it she's ecstatic. Nearby a young woman is found dead, and her baby has gone missing!!
Police charge Marla, but her cousin David, who is a newspaper reporter, and has returned home to Promise Falls has a feeling there is much more to this, and decides to investigate! Good story, though sometimes characters are frustrating and you want to yell at them LOL
